Doll Repair

A friend of mine from work wanted to repair a childhood friend for her kids. The doll's head had come off at a seam where it attached to the body.
I thought I might be able to fix it so received the doll this week. I used some raw cotton and soem upholstery thread to add a bit of fabric to reattach the small bit of fabric left at the head edge and extended down the body to add the support the head needed. I stuffed any gaps with polyfil and she's now ready for her new life.

Manly Man

I can't wait to work some more on my Papier Mache Doll but as I mentioned it's a really long project and I can barely stand the wait. In the meantime I've been working on a new cloth doll pattern design of my own. A "Manly Man".

I've been through three heads so far and this one is my favourite. SO I'll post my progress. Not sure what he wants to be yet so I have done any soft sculpting which means he really doesn't look like much. He does have a wire armature throughout. Fingers too. Since he hasn't figured out what he wants to be I still haven't sewn on his arms.

I think I may have to start his face before he'll really give up his secrets. He may be a little short in the body... hmmm
